For those who miss the 90s, Kevin Williamson (original Scream films, Dawson’s Creek) is relaunching the Scream series in 2010 with a second trilogy of films.

According to Williamson, “The fourth one is an ensemble. It’ll take place right now, 10 years later, and it’s going to take place in Woodsboro. We’ll have our three main characters [Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette] will indeed be returning for Scream 4.and we’ll be introducing several more. We’ll also be introducing a little group, a little ensemble of new cast members. That’ll take us through the next three.” No confirmation on whether Wes Craven will return as director.

The poster art and tagline was released in time for the American Film Market. Rumours are swirling that the films will be targeted at a younger audience than the first three which would probably mean a PG-13 rating (the first one was rated R). Will this open the series up to a wider audience or will it only alienate horror fans ensuring the quick death of the revival? Only time will tell.
