Peter Bart at Variety is reporting Scream IV will start production in April or May 2010 as the first film in a new trilogy and Dimension is in talks with Scream 1, 2 and 3 helmer Wes Craven to return for the new franchise. On top of that he reports Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette will star.
The news comes as part of a piece announcing a new slate of films Dimension is putting into production. Along with Scream IV there’s word Robert Rodriguez is writing a Spy Kids IV which he apparently will direct (where will he find the time) and will start shooting in March 2010 according to Dimension head Bob Weinstein.
Along with those two films there’s also the previously announced Halloween 3-D and a remake of Children of the Corn. Weinstein is heading back to the franchise mold with plans to also shoot sequels to Hellraiser and Scanners in 3D as well as remakes of Short Circuit and American Warewolf in London.
Weinstein told Variety “there is no question that financing is readily available to produce and market these films.”

I am STUNNED! I didn’t think it would really happen. But I am glad Neve’s back to a mainstream Hollywood production and I hope it leads to other big, important roles. GO NEVE!

ive written letters begging for her to be on Scream 4 and ive also tweeted to david arquette haha about it and i really wanted her to do it when she said she ewouldnt but now she is so its really great.

i am lik obsessed with Neve Campbell lol… im soooo glad tht she is doing scream 4. without her the movie would hav been horrible. she makes the most perfect facial expressions in all of her movies.she in a way reminds me of myself but ik tht i will probably never get to meet her witch is pretty sad.ik this is weird but when i eat if i think of her at all i dnt wanna eat anymore. idk y.its crazy tho she is so talented nd beautiful.i hope she stars in alot more movies through out the years

I LOVE the scream films. My life revolved around those films when i was a kid…and when i heard they were over…i was so sad…i think i have about 4 scream costumes haha…im so excited to hear that the 4th is more than a rumor. thank you Neve. We all Love you.
